The charm of New York lies in its early embrace of Christmas right after Halloween. Despite typically avoiding the frigid outdoors, the Christmas season in New York is an exception, drawing me out of my warmth. The city transforms with lit-up trees and bustling Fifth Avenue, offering a holiday magic reminiscent of beloved Christmas films. While seasoned New Yorkers may escape the city, I relish in returning to a state of childhood wonder.
Living in New York often means bypassing tourist spots, but I couldn't resist the allure of the holiday movie sites tour. Highlights include Wollman Rink from “Home Alone 2,” the Rockefeller Center tree reunion scene, the Santa sleigh collision at Bethesda Fountain from “Elf,” and the Bryant Park holiday shops. Despite the cold, the two-hour-and-thirty-minute tour captures the essence of Christmas, leaving you wanting more.
