Chiropractic care is akin to annual health check-ups. It's not only sought when in pain but provides a comprehensive diagnosis of the health of muscles, joints, and particularly the spine. The alignment and health of the spine are crucial because nerves, originating in the brain and extending to all body parts, pass through it. Regular check-ups are essential to ensure spinal health.
Chiropractic treatment encompasses all musculoskeletal disorders. Our skeletal system comprises bones, joints, and muscles that enable movement. Chiropractic care addresses issues related to all these areas, including pain in the neck, back, waist, disc disorders, neuralgia, and joint pains in shoulders, elbows, hips, wrists, knees, and ankles.
Recently, "tech neck syndrome" has become prevalent across all ages. Poor posture, incorrect use of computers and smartphones are primary causes. Symptoms include neck and shoulder pain, stiffness, and headaches, potentially leading to cervical disc problems. Treatments involve physical therapy for pain relief, corrective care for spinal alignment, and rehabilitation exercises to stabilize muscles surrounding the neck.
Modern adolescents, exposed early to laptops, computers, smartphones, and gaming consoles, often display poor spinal alignment. If parents notice poor posture, it likely indicates misalignment or muscle imbalance. Treatment includes pain relief, corrective care, and rehabilitation exercises. For asymptomatic cases, corrective care and rehabilitation can restore spinal and muscle balance. Even if adolescents have developed poor posture, physical therapy, corrective care, and rehabilitation can normalize their condition.
Athletically active children exert more stress on muscles and joints, requiring special management. Quick treatment after injuries prevents worsening, while rehabilitation post-recovery helps in recovery. Regular physical therapy relieves stress on the musculoskeletal system, with corrective care for joint alignment and muscle relaxation through stretching.
Parents should consider spinal X-rays for children if poor posture is observed, even if pain is absent. Adults should seek examinations if prolonged computer or smartphone use causes neck and shoulder pain, if back pain occurs after prolonged sitting, or if clothing appears misaligned after daily activities, such as pants twisting or uneven sleeve lengths. Differences in shoe wear also suggest the need for a check-up.
When using smartphones, laptops, or computers, ensure the screen is at eye level. Adjust office chairs and desks to fit one's body to help maintain good posture.
