Vision and Mission

Located in Palisades Park, New Jersey, the non-profit organization Give Chances is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to children from low-income families and supporting the talent development and employment of individuals with developmental disabilities. The foundation's vision is to ensure everyone receives the necessary education to grow, share their talents, serve others, and foster communication and cooperation within society.

Quality Education for All

One of the core initiatives of Give Chances is the "Quality Education Program" aimed at children from economically disadvantaged families. Many youth and children lack access to quality education due to their parents' financial constraints, impacting their academic performance, college admissions, and job opportunities, often perpetuating a cycle of poverty. Give Chances addresses this by offering free after-school programs, providing an economic relief for families and fostering academic improvement. The program helps students enhance their skills, explore career paths, and potentially grow into leaders contributing significantly to both family and society.

DDartists: Jobs for Artists with Developmental Disabilities

The second major initiative by Give Chances is a talent development and employment support program for individuals with developmental disabilities. Employment is crucial not only for economic reasons but also for social belonging and self-realization. However, employment rates for those with developmental disabilities are significantly lower compared to non-disabled individuals. Acknowledging the unique talents of these individuals, Give Chances has established "DDartists: Jobs for Artists with Developmental Disabilities." The program employs talented artists with developmental disabilities to create artwork, which is then used to produce various products such as planners, calendars, and Christmas cards. Proceeds from these sales fund the artists' wages and educational expenses. Since last year, students from the Ridgefield High School developmental disability program in New Jersey have joined DDartists as part of their vocational training, with their creations now available for purchase on Amazon.

Opportunities to Share and Serve

Give Chances hopes to involve more participants in creating opportunities for growth, sharing, and communication. The after-school program for low-income families welcomes volunteer tutors to assist with children's homework, providing leadership and social development opportunities for volunteers aged 13 and above. Interest and support for DDartists can facilitate job creation and talent enhancement for more individuals with developmental disabilities. Give Chances is seeking individuals with talent and a warm heart in fields such as art, music, sports, graphic design, and computer technology.
